The Lone Angel

One little angel was sitting on the ledge
Carrying a sign that said welcome friends,
Come on in and I’ll make you a pledge.
We’ll have fun and live on the edge.

I’ll try not to fall if you will too,
I’m all alone and feeling a little blue.
One lone angel standing all alone
Just waiting there for someone to atone.

The little angel waits all along
Just waiting for you to belong
It stands between you and the devil
It keeps the battle level.

It can call upon an army to protect you
If a battle should ensue
The lone angel will be there
To say a little prayer for you.

The lone little angel sitting on the ledge
Is the best hope you have as an edge
It will help you get to God
You will think it not the least bit odd.

God is the Savior the angel wants for you
It knows God your life will renew
It will sit there and wait for a clue
And when you are ready it will go to God with you.

Thank you Lora, glad you liked it. Its kinda funny how a poem is sometimes born. We were at a little motel in Kansas where we sometimes go to get away for a day or so. Our friends who own it are like family to us. Anyway I was getting ready to go in the office to get coffee and just glanced down and there was this little angel sitting on the window ledge all by its self and I said to myself, there is a poem in there somewhere. It was in December and I guess it was part of the decorations, but it just stuck in my mind.

Jan is a little angel
Sitting at her desk
Keyboard in her hands
Doing what she loves best.

Jan weaves a little story
As she goes about her day
Letting life bring her inspiration
For what she wants to say.

She says she is not an angel
But I think that she must be
For she does little angel things
To bring blessings to you and me.
