Black And Blue Toes
We’re born into this world with narrow vision to the truth
Because of this lack of understanding for a time we’re immune
For Jesus loves the little children, but we take this for granted
Before too long we’re left stumbling in the dark feeling our way
Only when we stub our toes will we realize this is the wrong way
But some of us refuse to let go of pride and keep trying
We’re now lost and wondering why we feel numbness in our walk
Because of this we’re on our hands and knees more often than not
Those that have taken advantage will have found the hands to lift them
Before too long we’re looking into the eyes of the healer, forgiver of sin
Those that take the hands will be saved and eyes will be open to the light
But some of us will lose zeal and wander back into the dark
We’ve forgotten though saved by Jesus we’re far from perfect till we stumble
Then we cry in anger to God, why the pain, when it’s our own toes we stub?
The price we pay is black and blue when getting lost without directions
Jesus is the light and He knows where Satan put the traps in the dark
This is why we should follow Him, and not make our own way blindfolded
We’re always one step from falling head over heels in a place hard to get up
Thank the Lord for giving toes to stub it’s better to get black and blue
Then lose our head which we can’t get back, only get one in this life
Stop the cursing and praise the Lord for the hand that lifts us up again
Our toes will get black and blue, but the Lord will always be there
Will be lifted up when we stumble, His forgiveness brushes off sin
Just the way it will be until the last sin is covered by His blood
