four...five...

6 in the mornin', layin' in my bed

6 little demons playin' in my head

7 revelations led me to the east

667...one step ahead of the beast


The first revelation elevated my sight

I clawed my way out of my grave and started runnin' through the night

I could see my own past as it passed me by

Mental demons screamin' as I watched myself die


The second revelation showed a nation in tears

Years upon years of being controlled by its fears

The Statue of Liberty defiantly stands tall

as one by one, freedoms and liberties fall


In revelation three, it was my kids and me

laying peacefully under an apple tree

The fruit was forbidden, and just before dawn

all three of my kids had eaten...and all three were gone


The fourth revelation had me cursing temptation

Pleading for my kids, begging for their salvation

A multitude of brilliant angels, a horde of demons haunted

chimed "Your children are still innocent, you're the one we've always wanted"


Revelation number five had me burning alive

Peeling at my flesh, tryin' to survive

I fell into a pool of fire where lost souls dwell

I saw the beast unleashed in the depths of hell


In the sixth revelation, temptation everywhere

I whisper a prayer, but in the morning she's still there

She doesn't know me but she loves, wants to play with me and stay with me

Come my demon, clever demon, lovely demon, lay with me


This was the last; revelation number seven

I saw the foundation of Creation in a stairway to Heaven

It was east of where I stood, a good mile to my right

and in the middle of the night I kissed my kids and held 'em tight

because they're the only ones, unconditionally, on this earth

I live for them, I'll die for them, and I'd kill for them since birth

I gently stroked 'em, never woke 'em as I was chokin' back a tear

I was breaking, but not broken...so God has spoken, let me hear

As I came upon the stairway, a wall of brick yet clear like glass

and the Lord of my salvation, but He wouldn't let me pass

I asked was I not worthy, did I change too late to make the climb?

and Jesus said it's not my time, that I'm not finished with this rhyme

In His hand was every verse, from the beginning to the end

including seven revelations that I hadn't yet penned

He said "Defend your enemy like your children, love them all as one"

"Then, and only then, will this rhyme be done"
