A Prayer

The people with great voices
Are busy singing for the world-
So busy with their music Lord,
That they have no time for Thine--
I hesitate to ask Dear God…
Could you use a voice like mine?

The people with great ability
In the art of prose and rhyme
Seem to be involved writing worldly things--
Could you use a talent like mine?

The people with limber frame
Who dance and perform on stage
Seem caught up in the world dear Lord-
A product of our age.

I’m not a great performer, Lord
But I could learn in time
To dance a sacred dance for you—
Could you use a dance like mine?

I have so much love for you
Stored up in my heart.
If you want it—it is Thine.
Somewhere in your service, Lord
Could you use a heart-like mine?

Back in the 1980's a minister with the gift of prophecy told me that I would have my work published. It didn't happen until over twenty years later, but it was God's timing and was the perfect timing. I found a notebook of my poems from that era and am enjoying reading through them again.

If you happen to run into my ex-spouse, tell her I'd like to have my old writings back...so I can douse them with gasoline and light a match to them.

My little dog dances with me. :-) She is the better dancer. LOL
