I used to love you, demon, for the pain you put me through

because I thought that the truth of the pain was true

You would push me down, and smile as I'd fall

Sometimes my greatest feeling was when I didn't feel at all

The tears that I cried and the lies that I lied

were just a reflection of the demon inside

because I finally realized what you were trying to do

You used me as a pawn just to draw others near

You wanted me to spread all of your misery and fear

Less than dead, so very far from alive

Only when I cried to God did I know I'd survive


I now forgive you, demon, for the pain you put me through

because my savior Jesus Christ says that's what I'm meant to do

You had me once, way back when

but I promise here and now you'll never take me again

How much pain can you witness, how much destruction and temptation

It's only a matter of time before even you cry for salvation


I will pray for you, demon, for the pain you're going through

for God is a forgiving God who wants to make you brand new

Whoever you might have hurt, whatever you might have done

you too can be forgiven by the Chosen One

I will pray one day you'll pray to the Lord up above

and feel his eternal, unconditional, sacrificial love
