Despise Not Small Beginnings

The first time I shared "a collection of my work".

Years (and years) ago, I went with a friend to a ladies meeting at her church. She had told her friends that I loved to write poetry and they asked me if I would share something from memory for them. I walked up to the podium and absentmindedly put my hand in my jacket feeling numerous scraps of paper. I shared a little verse with them.
When someone asked if there was a collection of my work I pulled out the scraps of paper from my jacket pockets which included verses scribbled on grocery store receipts, backs of envelopes and church bulletins, yellow sticky notes and napkins...it was a lovely group and they enjoyed seeing one of the first collections of my poetry. LOL :-)

What a beautiful story. I'm certain those scraps of paper were a collection of love and beauty. I would have loved to have been part of that group of ladies.
