What is hope upside down?
It's a dream thats been broken,
It's a plan you can't change,
It's a word left unspoken.
It's a wish unfufilled,
At the end of the day,
It's a chance left ungiven,
It's a hope gone astray.
It is tears in the darkness,
that just will not cease.
It is seeking an answer,
and praying for peace.
It is seeing the world,
Can be so unfair,
It is thinking perhaps,
Life is too hard to bear.
It is questioning things,
to the fullest extent,
And knowing this journey,
Has left your soul spent.
What is hope upside down?
It is trying to smile,
Despite the long road,
And the unending trial.
It's in seeing that maybe,
It's not in my hands,
And life still goes on,
When I don't understand.
It's in stopping a moment,
And seizing the day,
It's in making things work,
When it seems there's no way.
It's in "trying" to pray,
When you just long to run,
It's in saying,"I've lived,"
When the long day is done.
What is hope upside down?
It's a flame barely burning,
It is still holding on,
While the world keeps turning.
It is faith in the midst,
of life's harsh circumstance,
It is reaching to heaven,
And taking a chance.

I like how you left the reader no real pause in the form of a stanza. It really brings home the message. Great work!
