Lord Send an Angel
She saw her little girl
Sitting at the bottom of the stairs
Her little hands were folded
And she was saying her prayers.
When she asked her
what she was praying for
The child so sweetly said
" I'm asking God to send an angel
to walk with me
As I go up the stairs to bed."
It seems her night light had burned out
And she knew on whom to call
To see her safely up the stairs
And down the darkened hall.
Lord, let me have that kind of faith
That you found in that little girl-
Faith that puts my hand out to you
No matter what is going on in the world.
No task is too large for you
Nor is a task too small
The whole globe is no greater task
Than one child's darkened hall.
