Today

Today I thought of yesterday
Not with remorse or pain
But with loving memories
As I relived happy times again.

My thoughts went back to earliest days
Of memories oh so sweet
When I was just a little kid
And a lollipop was a treat!

I remembering learning to tie my shoe
And then moving right along
I rode a bike versus a trike
And learned to sing a song.

I thought of happy days in school
And even those that made me sad
Looking back on them today
They don't seem to be so bad.

I thought about my one big fall
And it wasn't from a shove
But rather it was the happiest kind...
The day I fell in love!

My wedding memories are so sweet
And when with pregnancy I was blessed
I have such precious memories of
A little bundle of purest happiness.

Those days of loss and heartache
When I lost family that I love
Are countered by the knowledge
That they reside with God above.

And as I grow much older
And have fewer days to live
I try to sort out my life to determine
Just what do I have to give.

If I could offer one profound thought
To help some of you get through
I would say just these 4 little words
Remember God loves you!
