WAITING FOR DAWN

On silent feet the night creeps in
Until you are completely surrounded from within
Your heart starts to beat faster
Waiting for total disaster.

The night has a way of changing things
It depends on what it brings.
Things look different after dark
We just pray for a little spark.

Everything is darkest before dawn
We have no idea what the night will spawn.
Waiting for the light of the moon or sun
We worry we will have neither one.

Whatever it looked like during the day
It changes when night comes our way.
Sometimes we must look at least twice
To see what we saw when the light was nice.

The night is a strange and wonderful time.
Things can seem to change on a dime.
The dark of night seems to have mystical power
That disappears at the daylight hour

Most people sleep during the night
But if you can’t that’s alright.
Listen to the sounds you hear
Especially if the night is clear.

Sometimes there are a lot
Sometimes there are not.
Night comes on silent feet
It is sometimes full of deceit.

Trust in God to give you rest
What He decides is always best.
Pray to God for guidance from above
And he will send it to you full of love.
