“For it pleased the Father that in Him (Jesus Christ) all the fullness should dwell, and by Him to reconcile all things to Himself, by Him, whether things on earth or things in heaven, having made peace through the blood of His cross. And you, who once were alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now He has reconciled in the body of His flesh through death, to present you holy, and blameless, and irreproachable in His sight – if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, which was preached to every creature under heaven, of which I, Paul, became a minister.” (Col. 1:19-23 NKJV).

The reconciliation of sinners to God is the result of God’s steadfast love. Due to His love for us, it pleased Him that all the fullness (including us) should dwell in Christ and for this all things need to be reconciled to God by Christ. Now people from various areas, backgrounds, castes, creeds and colours are one in union with Christ Jesus. The death and resurrection of Jesus joined us with God. We are now in divine unity. The different parts of Christ’s body have different functions but there is unity in diversity. We need to realize that we should not move away from the hope of the gospel. The very essence of the gospel is the unity between the redeemed people of God. Whenever the forces of darkness try to eliminate the light of oneness in us we must remember that we are reconciled together to God. Once we were alienated from God but now He has reconciled us to present us holy, blameless and irreproachable in His sight. The very nature of reconciliation shows how much God desires us.

Our state of holiness, blamelessness and irreproachableness is not something due to our efforts but it is a miracle of love. If we only are committed to God, God will make us more holy, more blameless and irreproachable. We should prayerfully consider the love of God that was manifest more than thousands of years ago. It was to present us holy. The lives we are living now are Christ-centered. We are living for the One who gave His life for us. Christ is the source of all goodness. Due to Christ, we are presented holy, blameless and irreproachable. But there is one condition – to continue in the faith. How many of us really continue in the faith? For this we need to abstain from all things that can harm our faith and sustain our faith life by focusing on the Author and Finisher of our faith. The more we concentrate on Jesus, the better believers we become.

Our life is determined by how we respond to God’s purpose of reconciliation. It is God’s purpose, desire and pleasure that we get reconciled to Him. For this we need to abstain from our wicked ways and accept Jesus Christ as our personal Saviour. Just pray, “Loving Jesus, cleanse me by your blood and make me your child. Help me to live a life pleasing in Your sight. In Your name in pray, Amen.” Everyone who prayed the prayer of repentance, all through the centuries, got reconciled to God and became a blessing for many. In which road are you travelling now? Are you with Christ? Consider these questions with care. Become a child of God today.
