When You Look Into Your Mirror

When you look into the mirror
Do not look at your outer shell
And be saddened or dismayed
At what the glass may tell.

Look behind each wrinkle
And see both the tears and laughter there
And remember all the problems
That were handled by answered prayer.

Look beneath the eyes that may
Have been brighter in years past
Cherish the memories of what
those eyes have seen--
Those memories that will last.

The mirror may reflect
Your outer shell that's true
But that's just an earthly ''body suit''
It's not really you!

So, look into that mirror
And smile your very best
And say ''God made me who I am
And I trust that He knows best!''

He gave me this body suit for earth
And He made it just for me
But I'll leave it all behind someday
When my Spirit is set free.

I will take good care of it
Until I leave this earthly shore
But I know that when I reach the other side
It won't fit me anymore!

Isn't it awesome knowing that. This world puts too much into our outer shells and judges books by their covers. Thankfully God knows better. I really love this one. I pray it touches a young girl who needs to hear it.

Thena , years ago I'd go to open mic.'s and participate in slams. One thing stood out, people did not see me coming but when I read sometimes you could hear a pin drop.
I don't mean to sound boastful, but in walks this big truck-driver guy and catches the listener completely off-guard. people will size you up and place a label on you at first glance. It's human nature, yes we're supposed to have a renewed sight in Christ but that must be practiced, put into use and perfected to the best of our ability. Unfortunately, realistically speaking we all fall short most of the time.
