PARSHA: "B'har"  (On the mountain)

LEVTICUS 25: 1 - 26:2,   JEREMIAH 32:6 - 27,  LUKE 4:16 - 21

 Moshe is on Mt. Sinai, receiving the instructions per YHVH.  He must have a good memory since he didn't take anything to write the words down.  But knowing YHVH, He gave him PERFECT memory.  We see that the LORD Is teaching over the SHABBAT rest of y years.  He is not only concerned about our weekly Sabbath rest, but also, the 7 year Sabbath rest of HIS land.  When we think in agricultural terms, it makes sense.  When a farmer grows crops,. the crops take certain chemicals, elements, nutrients out of the soil. The soil only has a certain amount of nutrients, and when those are depleted, the soil is useless, But when the soil is allowed to rest for a whole year, it replenishes itself, the fruit that falls from the trees falls to the ground, rots, and turns into fertilizer, and thus, the same food that nourishes man, nourishes the ground,   The LORD made sure that the food grown in the 6th year would be enough for the 7th year. So, in year seven EVEYONE RESTED. even the farm animals and the land, as well as the farmers, We need to honor the land that the LORD has given us to live on.  No matter what country you live in, it is still God's land, HE created the earth for man and all animals, so we must take care of it and respect it.

Then we get into the   50th year.  the year of Jubliee (Yoveil) this is when ALL properties revert back to their original owners, We read in scripture that when a slave served his/her master "for life" it wasn't really that, it was until the year of Jubilee, the maximum years a person could be a slave were 50 years,  Unless the person was redeemed before that time.   We have all been redeemed by our Messiah Yeshua, so we all have that Shalom of spiritual rest, we need not worry about what comes after our body goes into the earth.

When we get to chapter 26 which goes until the end of the book of Leviticus, we see;  "IF you walk in my statues and keep my commandments and perform them, THEN...I will give you......"  (Lev 26:3) Every thing is conditional, there is nothing automatic, That is just the way life is, if we want the blessings of YHVH, then, we must adhere to HIS Word, and his mitzvoth, in our life, but remember, that salvation is apart from mitzvoth, Salvation is a DONE DEAL on Calvary, we need only to accept by faith what Messiah did for us, yet He tells us that if we love him, we will obey his commandments, Yes, He gave new ones, really getting into the essence of the Torah, but He was also with the Father and the Ruach HaKodesh when the 613 commandments were given to Moshe and the People of Israel.  So, if we want blessings and not curses, we know what we must do and how to live our lives.

JEREMIAH 32

The LORD commands Yirimyahu to "buy a field" but why? if the major part of Israel was about to go into captivity by the Babylonins. BECAUSE the LORD would have Israel return to the land after 70 years, One of the reasons was that Israel had corrupted themselves, went after strange gods, and "did not allow the land to rest" so now, the land would have its Sabbath rest for 70 years .  AFTERWARDS,  the people returned many with Nehemiah and Ezra, the land was again populated, and the walls and city rebuilt , and Jeremiah claimed his property.   We have a property awaiting us also in the New Jerusalem, a place of splendor .  Problem free, roach and rat free, a city where rules the KING of Kings and LORD of Lords, and we have a stake in HIS property, we will just have to wait a while for it, but it is there, as Yeshua said,  "I go to prepare a place for you"  and "In my Father's house, there are many mansions" Who knows, if we go to the LORD in prayer, and ask him to give us properties that are close by, so that we are living on the same block, we just might be eternal neighbors!  (but just make sure you keep your dog out of MY flower bed)  Hey! is it really YOURS or the LORD's!! (Ahhh, yeahh)

LUKE 4:16-21

We see Yeshua being given his turn to read the scriptures in his town synagogue, He gets up to read, and he reads and then sits down,  the "sitting down" position was the position of teaching in those days, today, the preacher stands up in the pulpit and the church/synagogue members are sitting down.
He quotes from Isaiah 61:1,2  He mentions several points, "The Spirit of YHVH is upon me, he has appointed me to;
1.  preach the gospel to the poor,  2.  heal the broken hearted,  3.  proclaim liberty to the captives  4.  give sight to the blind,  5.  give liberty to those oppressed,  6.  proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD.  "6" things,  "6" is the number of man, it is a message to mankind that for these reasons, Messiah came to earth to minister,  the share HIS message of salvation through faith in HIM,  comfort those who were suffering in spirit and emotionally, set free those who were in the captivity of sin, restore physical sight to those who were blind, and also, those who were blind spiritually,  set free those who were oppressed by demons, to proclaim, "The Messiah is here" the one Moshe talked about, the one who Daniel prophesied who would come, it all fit, and still does.  Yeshua did not read the rest of Isaiah, because that would be for his SECOND coming, (The Day of Vengeance.)
