When we pray

our minds seek answers

As our thoughts wonder

where God is

When we pray

our troubles surround us

As our tears fall

caught by God

When we pray

our burdens are transformed

As the Holy Spirit

utters words beyond our own

When we pray

our bearings are transported

As our Creator yearns

for worship beyond our world

When we pray

our souls are united

As our hearts reach

toward our Maker

When we pray

our sorrows are uplifted

As our hands raise

to His throne

When we pray

we seek His direction

As our wants become

longing for His perfect will

When we pray

our spirits become quiet

As we give Him

control of all

Please remember the quiet part also. Be silent and expect the Lord's input. A settling effect in the spirit. A word of scripture coming out of left field. An image on a billboard. A comment of insight or guidance spoken by another... He has His many agencies. We must shut up sometimes, meditate and wait. This is exciting, holy frontier that you do not encounter in an assembly, rushed as they often are. Being instant in prayer.
