ITS YOUR SOUL

If you say God is love

Then maybe you better look above

If you think that you know it

You have forgotten how to show it.

 

You can quote the Bible all day long

But it doesn’t mean anything if you act wrong.

You can’t believe in what it means

If your actions don’t mean beans.

 

The Bible says love your fellow man

Somehow I don’t think that you can

Your heart is as hard as a rock

Somewhere you have a mental block.

 

Someday you’ll think back to this

And wonder what you missed.

You will ask God to help you through

But from Him you will get what’s due.

 

What to others you have said and done

Is only important to the Son

If you had really asked Him to come into your soul

You would change and your life would be whole.

 

Jesus died on the cross

If you don’t accept Him that’s your loss.

What you give out you get

According to God you must pay your debt.     

 

So do as you will

You will have to pay the bill

If the cost is just too high

Don’t count on that mansion in the sky.

So many souls who could be moved by a succinct arresting poem on the
courage, nobility and availability of Jesus, the greatest man/rescuer
who ever walked this planet. And you TWO have to take up valuable
space with your vitriolic game of badminton. Smarten up, and stop
returning to first base salvation palaver when the Body needs to
grow..Doug

"Vitriolic" seems kinda' strong...how's about "juvenile" instead?

Just for informational purposes this poem was not written with anyone in mind except someone I heard talking the other day and what they said in front of me about someone else came to mind in poetry.  I have moved on from the juvenile antics of others.  I don't care what anyone thinks of me or my poetry, if they don't like it they don't have to read it.  As far as Lora is concerned she can do whatever she wants to do.  I am so sorry Doug.  You write some great stuff and I am sorry that all of this has gone on for no good reason.  Each poem should be taken on its own merits and what it means to the reader not anyone else.

Luke 2:41-52

The Boy Jesus at the Temple

⁴¹ Every year Jesus’ parents went to Jerusalem for the Festival of the Passover. ⁴² When he was twelve years old, they went up to the festival, according to the custom. ⁴³ After the festival was over, while his parents were returning home, the boy Jesus stayed behind in Jerusalem, but they were unaware of it. ⁴⁴ Thinking he was in their company, they traveled on for a day. Then they began looking for him among their relatives and friends. ⁴⁵ When they did not find him, they went back to Jerusalem to look for him. ⁴⁶ After three days they found him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions. ⁴⁷ Everyone who heard him was amazed at his understanding and his answers. ⁴⁸ When his parents saw him, they were astonished. His mother said to him, “Son, why have you treated us like this? Your father and I have been anxiously searching for you.”

The new juvenile in all of us should continue to grow in wisdom, while the "old man" decreases in us till no more.
