A note Written in a lovely old-fashioned script
That gracefully filled the page.
This rose means I love you
And will my whole life through
This rose is a tangible sign
Of my undying love for you.
This rose brings kisses
From my lips to you
Keep these petals with you
If you love me true.
And should we never met again
And fate keeps us apart
Keep at least one petal
And wear it near your heart.
What happened to those lovers
Whose lips once kissed this rose?
What happened to their love story
How can I find someone who knows?
Oh, I pray they are together
And time has been so kind
For a love so sweet and tender
Is so very rare to find!
My love for you is just as precious
Just as sweet and true
