Gazing up at the night sky
She wishes upon a star
But she knows that wishes don’t come true for her
Her dreams have been shattered way to many times
That her heart is broken into pieces
She hangs out with the wrong crowd
Cause she feels like that’s where she belongs
Even though her friends make fun of her and
Tell her she’s worthless
She laughs it off but deep inside she cries it out
She wants to be somebody but she feels like nobody
She hides her face because she feels disgraced and worthless
She runs to a place where nobody knows
She sees her reflection staring back at her in someone else
Staring at the scars that are marked on her arm
Remembering the pain that bled
Wounds of her past open up
She fights the hurt and pain
That holds her back
She’s blindly running in the other direction
And falling quickly downhill in life
Slowly her faith starts to fade into the dark night
She dances into the traps of her friends but
She doesn’t know that she’s dancing fast downhill
They pull her into the night, taking every risk in the light
She runs to a place where nobody knows
Falling on her knees she covers her face
As the tears run down like the rain
She cries out
“God if you are listening
Make my shattered dreams come true,
Mend this broken heart of mine,
Help me to find a way to you
For I need you desperately
I’ve been running way to long without you
That I am falling apart into shattered pieces
Take me as I am and mend me back whole again,
I need you, Oh Lord
It was at that moment she saw a light
It was at that moment where the pieces all around her
Were being taken away
It was at that moment where tears like rain had stopped
And the sun had blazed through
At that moment a hand like no other so gentle, fragile and
So perfect told her “Grab my hand and follow me my dear sweet child”
After that her story and her journey taken over by God, her life tells a different story
Of hope!
