Night Beauty

The stars in your eyes
Are like the stars in the sky
When you are a child of God

There’s beauty in the night
That you may never see
Because you look with daylight eyes

If the opportunity ever comes for you to really see
The Heaven as I’ve seen it with my nighttime eyes
What a blessing that would be

There isn’t just a few bright stars that are easy to see
But out where there is no light
It looks like the sky has been sprinkled with glitter every night

Things that look like something in the day
Look totally different at night
Your mind can wander though the universe

Fear not the night just let your sight
Wander where it may in the night’s bright light
Look inside yourself where the beauty dwells

There is beauty in the night that disappears in the day
Fear not the things you cannot see
Just trust in the Lord and cling to Him

Make it a point to look at the moon and really see
God’s great work and what he gave us to be
He gave us the beauty at night as He did the day

I pray more at night than during the day
He probably has more time then
To listen to what I say.

you know jan, i just sent two of my latest poems to the (basket). after i read them several times and had some rest i realized where they took a bad turn. the bad turn came from me not heeding that guiding direction. then i got up made coffee and read this.
now i feel refreshed, thank you so much...His timing is impeccable!

You know, there are times the work seems ready for the "basket." But somtimes they need to be set aside for a minute or so, not thown away.

scott there is a basket on this site, kind of holding pen if you will, i'll put things there and edit them. let them sit for a while till i can determine where i went off topic, ask the Lord for guidance and forgiveness for allowing my will to superede his. then if i feel it's ready i can repost it. but it's still here on the site, moderators have access to few more options here. but you are absolutely right!
and not to take away from miss cleo's post, i love the message it's exactly where my head was at before opening up this page:) it's all good, thanks scott and miss cleo.

Thank you so much for the kind words. I find often my best work was what I really thought about not finishing. That is what I thought about with this one in fact. But I went ahead and did God's will and it blessed someone. God is so good.

I've found that some of my "basket cases" were things I was writing for someone else. Things that just didn't seem to apply to me and almost got tossed ended up being something that someone else would tell me was for them.

Beautiful work. Night is the quietest time to meditate and contemplate. It's the best time to pray for me too.

Seems that the more I try to work on a word, it just gets to muddy for me to see anything good. I do a lot of writing 'on the fly' most of the stuff ya'll have been so kind about have been that way. Miss Cleo, thank you for thee reminder that sometimes we look so hard we don't truly see. I am into this piece, totally.
