Easter
How can I be happy and sad
Sorrowful and yet glad
At the very same time?
Each feeling is in my heart and mind.
As I read of His crucifixion
Of His suffering and His pain
It brings tears to my eyes
Again and again..
How much He loved you!
How much He loved me!
It was expressed there on the cross
For all the world to see!
How horrible the pain
And the agony must have been that day
Oh, that I could have done something
To take that pain away.
But it was His choice
And obedient to His Father was He
Sent to die for our sins
So that we may know God’s love
For all eternity.
That is why I must be glad
And rejoice in the gift God gave us
I must express my joy each day
For His birth, death, and resurrection
Was God’s perfect plan to save us.
