This Time Yesterday

This Time Yesterday

It's so hard to realize
So hard to understand
That it was only yesterday
That I could hold your hand.

It's difficult to believe that one day
Can make the difference in life together
The way it was meant to be
And life without you being here with me.

Only a few hours have passed
And only one calendar page has turned
But time has moved on
And I must accept the fact that you are gone

It is for me that I weep and shed tears
For about your destiny I have no fears.
I know that it was God to whom you went
A reward for earthly time so Heavenly spent.

Your faith was an example to those around you
And I know that now angels will surround you
To welcome you home where you belong
But I cannot help but being sad that you are gone.

God will help me dry my tears
And my memories will get me through each day
But my heart is hurting now
For the joy we had only yesterday.

It's so hard to lose our loved ones even when we know they are having a wonderful time with the Lord. May the Lord comfort you in your mourning.
