We Miss You Dear Friend

We don't weep because we don't know where you are
As safely in Jesus' arms you reside
We weep because we miss you so much-
Missing you standing by our side.
We don't weep because you can't enjoy earthly sunshine
Or mourn because you loved earth too much to want to leave
But the empty spot you left within our daily lives
Is that which makes us grieve.
But knowing that we will join you someday
And side by side once again we will stand
Gradually pushes away the tears of sorrow
And we find comfort in the fact that Jesus now holds your hand.
